Ingredients for Chakki Atta Halwa

  • 1 & 3/4 cup soft Ghee (clarified butter)
  • 2 cups @elephantattaofficial Chakki Gold Atta
  • To make the syrup:
  • 2 & 2/3 Cups of water
  • 4 Bay leaves
  • 4 Cardamom pods
  • 4 Cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cups granulated white sugar

Method to make Chakki Atta Halwa

01. Add Elephant Atta Medium with Multigrain in a large mixing bowl. Add salt and pour in coconut oil. Mix it well until atta and oil are combined. Pour Iced cold water slowly. Add more water if needed, until the dough comes together into a shaggy ball.

02. In a pot add the water and all the whole spices.

03. Put the gas up on high heat and bring this to boil. Once it starts to boil, lower the heat, and add in the sugar.

04. Put the gas up and give this a good mix.

05. Let this cook on medium heat until the sugar melts fully. The syrup should be thin and not too thick, once the sugar melts cook further 4 minutes and turn the gas off. Keep this aside.

06. On a high, Using a non-stick pot and a pot with a handle, add the ghee.

07. Once the ghee melts, add in the Elephant Atta Chakki Gold atta.

08. Keep the gas under high heat, stir in the atta properly making sure the ghee coats it fully. Keep on stirring continuously so the atta doesn't form any lumps.

09. You need to fry this for at least 20-25 minutes by constantly stirring, keep on stirring until it turns into dark brown colour and emits that nice nutty aroma.

10. Make sure the heat is on high heat and add in the sugar syrup, be extra careful during this stage as it starts to splatter a lot.

11. Once you add in water, stir constantly as atta can become very lumpy if you don't do that.

12. Keep stirring non-stop until the flour absorbs all the water and the halwa comes together.

13. Once it all comes together, turn the heat off, otherwise, it will become too dry.

14. You can roast some nuts, chopit and garnish the halwa just before serving. This Chakki Atta halwa tastes delicious served warm.
